Summit to Surf XIII

Whether you’re a beginning rider or a serious cyclist, we have a route for you. Regardless of the route, each will take you through some of the most scenic areas in the NW, offering unparalleled vistas of the Cascades, including up close views of Mt. Hood before finishing on the bank of the Columbia River at Port Marina Park in Hood River. All routes are fully supported with SAG vehicles, rest stops and bike mechanics. Return Transportation: Because this is a point-to-point ride, we provide buses and UPS trucks to transport you and your bike back to your starting point at the conclusion of the ride. There is a $15 transportation fee, and you must pre-register by July 24th to guarantee a space on the bus. The buses will leave Port Marina Park at regularly scheduled times beginning at approximately 12:15 PM.

As usual, River City Bicycles will be on hand with courtesy maintenance for the riders. Summit to Surf is a benefit for the American Diabetes Association. COME WATCH!
Come watch the area's fastest cyclists compete for the region's biggest purse in the Health Net Portland Twilight Criterium. The course surrounds the North Park Blocks of downtown Portland, creating an island oasis of 360-degree viewing, music, food and beverage. There are several places where you can get close enough to feel the wind from the peloton. Each lap is one-half mile long which takes the racers just over one minute to complete. The course is highly technical so fields are limited to eighty riders.

The event is free to attend and great for families. Come downtown Friday evening, to experience the excitement yourself.
