New or Custom Bike Fits with Retül Muve Sl
The Retul Muve Sl is a completely adjustable Fit Bike designed to simulate any bike that is available stock or custom. It can be used in a number of ways, from creating the dimensions for your dream bike, having certainty about which size to buy, or having your bike built up with the right parts for you the first time. Here is a breakdown of the fit options on the Retül Muve Sl:
Custom Bike Fit: Using the Retul Fit Bike, the fitter evaluates your physical characteristics and riding goals to come up with the ideal dimensions for your custom bike. Leave knowing you will have a custom bike that is made for you with geometry that is optimized for performance and comfort.
Pre-purchase Fit: Using the Retul Fit Bike, the fitter evaluates your physical characteristics and riding goals to identify ideal bike models and sizes for you. You will ride the Muve SL fit bike in different configurations that mimic the potential models you are shopping for. Leave knowing you will buy the correct size and know which parts you need to set the bike up correctly. Often there are two sizes that will fit someone, but one size may fit better or have better aesthetics than the other.
Pre-build Fit: Using the Retul Fit Bike, the fitter evaluates your physical characteristics and riding goals to identify the ideal bike setup before a bicycle is built. With integrated cockpits and internal routing, it is often labor intensive to do minor changes to a cockpit configuration. Get the fit dialed before the bike is built to avoid costly alterations.

Our Fit Philosophy
Nobody rides your bike quite like you do. We take into account your physical characteristics and goals in order to balance that with how you want your bike to perform, feel and look. Our approach uses hard numbers combined with subjective observations and a touch of instinct and art.

FAQs about Fitting
A human can do amazing things on a bicycle, but it is far from our natural movement patterns. With the right setup, your bicycle and body can work in harmony. Riders will have different goals in a bike fit, such as: reducing discomfort, injury prevention, or to maximize performance.

Jacob Rathe, the Head Bike Fitter at River City Bicycles (and a Portland native!) grew up racing in the local road scene, which primed him for life as a professional cyclist from 2010-2018. Cycling is still where Jacob focuses his time; as a hobby, a coach, and as a perpetual tinkerer of all things bikes. His unique perspective as a fit expert is not just from success in cycling, but from the struggle and setback that are inevitably part of the experience in the sport.
Jacob’s experience in road, gravel, cyclocross, track, touring, and mountain biking give him great insight into fit considerations for different ride styles; all while being mindful of individual preference and goals.
