These policies are subject to change, and may differ from previously stated policies.

SHIPPING

Most in-stock orders ship within 1-2 business days.

We do not ship outside of the Continental U.S.

We do not ship to freight forwarders.

*Please note that some items may be subject to additional shipping and handling charges because of size or weight.

Our dealer agreements prohibit shipping new bikes. Bikes must be assembled and picked up at one of our stores.


REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

Our goal is to help you find a bike, clothing, and accessories that are a great fit for your needs. 

Returns can be made within 14 days of purchase on non-special order items. Returns must include original packaging and receipt. For certain items, a restocking fee may apply. We reserve the right to refuse a refund for any reason. All sales are FINAL on discounted merchandise and special orders, as well as bike shorts, tights, leggings and undergarments, for reasons we think you’ll understand.

BICYCLE RETURN POLICY

No refunds after 14 days on bikes purchased from our shop inventory. Customer must have a receipt for refund. All bicycles must be in NEW CONDITION; dents, scratches, or obvious signs of use will result in a minimum 15% restocking fee. E-bikes with more than 50 additional miles after date of sale are subject to 15% restocking fee. Store credit will be issued if you do not have your original receipt.

Special order bicycle sales are FINAL with no return period. Bicycles that are shipped from a brand warehouse or bought from a brand website to be picked up at one of our Portland locations are considered a special order.

GENERAL RETURN POLICY (Not Bicycles)
No returns or exchanges on Clothing, Helmets or Shoes that have been worn, soiled or missing tags. No returns or exchanges on Eyewear.

Special order sales are FINAL with no return period. Products that are shipped from a brand warehouse or bought from a brand website to be picked up at one of our Portland locations is considered a special order.

We accept returns and exchanges on full price items within 14 days of taking ownership. The item(s) must be in new condition with tags and packaging attached and no signs of use or wear with the original receipt.

ONLINE RETURNS

Considering our stated product return policy, the customer is responsible for any return shipping costs. River City Bicycles is not responsible for incurred shipping costs, duty, tax, loss or damage during shipping.

We will process your return as soon as possible but please allow up to 14 days for your refund to be processed and up to two billing cycles for the return to appear on your credit card.

BIKE ASSEMBLY TIMES 

All bikes, including kids bikes, require multiple days for us to assemble after your order is submitted. In some cases a bike may be assembled and on one of our showroom floors. Please call or email us for the most up to date timeline for assembly. 


FREIGHT CHARGES

By now we're sure you've heard the phrase "supply chain disruption" and the bicycle industry is not immune to these challenges. One of the biggest changes has been shipping times and shipping costs—both have gone up dramatically. Instead of list MSRP and tack on an unexpected fee at checkout, we have included these additional freight charges into our list price. This is MSRP plus $50 for adult bikes and $25 for kids bikes. You will see the same freight charge itemized on Specialized, Giant, and our other brands' website checkout listed as shipping and/or destination fee. 

We want to remind you that when you buy a bike from us you get professional assembly, warranty support, a 30 day break-in service ($85 value) and expert guidance when selecting a new bike and accessories.


DEFECTIVE ITEMS

Items defective prior to shipping can be exchanged or returned for refund for up to 14 days after receipt. Shipping costs for defective merchandise will be refunded at our approval, but we’ll be as fair and helpful possible.

We do not accept liability for shipping loss or damage of returned goods.

ONLINE ORDERS


IN STORE/CURBSIDE PICKUP

Upon placing an order, you will receive a copy of your order via email. When your order is ready for pickup you will be notified by email. You can quickly check your ONLINE ORDER STATUS HERE.

Most in-stock orders will be ready within one business day. 

Please keep in mind that some items may require additional processing time to transfer from off-site locations and merchandise requiring assembly (bicycles, wheels, etc.) may require additional processing time.

Items purchased online must be picked up within 30 days of order completion notification. Items left beyond 30 days will be returned to stock and your payment refunded.

PAYMENT POLICIES

Due to an increase in fraud we will only ship when the billing address and shipping address match. 

For purchases using Paypal, we require a Paypal confirmed address. 


INFORMATION SECURITY

We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts all of the information you provide to us and prevents outside parties from being able to “see” your transaction information. You also have the choice of whether or not to save credit card information with us in your Online Account.


BACKORDERS

Occasionally, some items are unexpectedly out of stock or unavailable and may be backordered. If this should occur, we will only bill your credit card for merchandise that is actually shipped. The total shipping charge for orders split into multiple shipments will not exceed the amount quoted on original order.
