This jacket is a game changer. To call it a rain jacket is only touching the surface. While it's an outstanding rain jacket, we end up using it 95% of the time in dry conditions because it's so compact that we always have it in our center pocket, ready to put on for a long, cold descent, or to cover up at a coffee stop, or to keep some heat in while waiting for the other guys to show up for the ride. We named this jacket Idro 3, which at first doesn't say much, but let's break it down. Idro is Italian for "hydro," meaning having to do with water. Or in this case, keeping water from coming in while letting sweat escape. It does both very, very well. Best we've ever made. The 3 in the name indicates this is the third iteration of this product, and we're nearing the maximum of what's possible with a shell jacket. There's a big innovation on the back, with a large high-stretch GORE-TEX panel that allows us to give the jacket a trim fit (i.e., no flapping fabric, so you can just ride away from your riding companions), yet the jacket expands to fit around loaded pockets — or to fit normal people with a bit of a gut. Beyond the stretch panel, we've carefully refined the fit, the finishing construction, the large reflective panels, and especially the wrist closures with a new internal gaiter. We've made this jacket to be as fully featured as possible when you wear it, but it will spend a lot of time in a pocket on those days when it might rain or when you just need it to cover up on long alpine descents. It weighs less than many jerseys and stashes away to occupy only half a jersey pocket. There is one drawback: the fabric is so lightweight that it is a little bit fragile, so treat it with care. It'll be one of the most important pieces in your cycling wardrobe. - The lightest and most packable fully waterproof Castelli GORE-TEX jacket - GORE-TEX SHAKEDRY™ product technology sheds water yet offers unmatched breathability - The entire lower back is in GORE-TEX Topo stretch fabric to expand in diameter if you have a few extra winter kilos or full pockets - Reflective tape on back of both sleeves for high visibility in low-light conditions - YKK Vislon waterproof zipper slides easily for ventilation adjustments - Internal wrist gaiter seals wrist and integrates with glove to keep water out

The Premio Bibshort has been engineered to provide the ultimate in long-distance comfort and to be your favorite bibshort ever. That's a big claim, but there's a lot of development in this short to back it up. So let's take a tour of the short. The first thing you might notice is what's missing: the seams and multiple panels. We engineered a new fabric that changes depending on the needs over various parts of the body. The lower leg has a raw-cut leg ending and rubberized yarns to guarantee a flat grip to keep the leg in place. The fabric becomes lighter in the thigh, while the four-way stretch provides just the right amount of muscle support. In the pelvis area, the compression and support increase to keep the seat pad and everything else in place, and the fabric gets thicker to avoid any embarrassing transparency issues. With this magical fabric we don't need to stitch separate panels together, which ensures more comfort and a better fit, as well as a sleek, sophisticated look. The premium fabrics extend into the bib straps. The perforated back keeps you cool and the edge is bonded so you don't feel the thickness of a stitched edge. The elastic straps have just enough modulus (return) to hold your shorts securely in place without cutting in to your shoulders. The seat pad is our top-of-the-line Progetto X2 Air Seamless pad. It's actually two separate components: a soft, stretchy Skin Care Layer next to your skin, which has the sole purpose of preventing any rubbing on your skin, and, under that, the Cushioning Layer, which features two separate densities of foam along with breathable perforated gel inserts under the ischia bones and perineum. We've carried the less-is-more theme into the design, with minimalist laser-etched logos and subtle finishing. It looks as premium as it feels. You can tell that every component, every stitch, every detail has been obsessed over. You'll not find a better bibshort. - The premium all-conditions short - Gradient stretch woven fabric for the right support in the right place - Woven fabric weighs 30% less than comparable knit fabric - Perforated back bib panel with lie flat bib straps that don't bind at shoulders - Integrated gripper elastic at leg ending holds short in place without need for extra silicone grippers - Laser-etched logos with RossoCorsa at center back and black scorpion shadow logos at lower legs - Progetto X2 Air Seamless seat pad

This is the Castelli of commute jackets, made to deliver maximum function on the bike and then look great when you get to work. We wanted a jacket that provides maximum visibility during those night commutes but doesn't look ridiculous with all kinds of silver reflective bands and strips when you get to the office. We applied a nearly unnoticeable reflective print on the entire surface of the jacket. You don't really see it when you're riding in the daytime or wearing the jacket off the bike, but at night the jacket reflects a distinctive pattern to get you noticed. We didn't stop at the reflectivity. The 20,000 mm water column means no water is coming through, ever. And the 20,000 MVTR breathability means that a good amount of moisture will escape. But it's the ventilation details that make this jacket stand out: there's a gaiter at the waist that you can close to seal out the wind or leave open to let some air come in from the bottom to keep you cooler. This inner gaiter allows us to make a jacket that hangs straight at the bottom — a much cleaner and more refined look than a jacket with wrinkles from an internal elastic. - Castelli-exclusive 3-layer allover reflex fabric with 20,000 mm water column waterproofing and 20,000 MVTR breathability - Taped seams for fully waterproof construction - Cut to fit over normal clothes, longer in front and back for extra coverage - No-sew bottom hem for very clean look - No-sew external zipper flap - Inner gaiter can be closed to seal out drafts or left open for ventilation - Velcro wrist closure to effectively seal against gloves

IF YOU HAD JUST ONE JACKET The Perfetto RoS is the one jacket that does everything well. We initially designed it as a cool-weather training and extreme-weather race piece for our pro riders, but in reality, it excels in many conditions thanks to its full wind protection, great fit through stretchy fabrics, and best-in-class breathability. Winter 2019 represents the biggest performance upgrade in the four generations of this jacket. RoS in the name signifies Rain or Shine. The emphasis should be on dry-weather comfort, which is where this jacket really excels, but then you get near waterproof protection if you do get caught in the rain. We worked with Gore to develop two new Castelli exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM WINDSTOPPER fabrics. We use a light fleece-lined water-resistant version on the forward-facing surfaces and a lighter, stretchier fabric on the back that maintains the breathability of the previous fabric while improving water repellency at the same time. The Perfetto RoS is that ideal weight: no built-in insulation so you can layer over a light base layer for moderate conditions. Or you can add a thermal jersey underneath and take it to very cold conditions. You decide. The Perfetto family features are all there: excellent fit, easy-sliding YKK zipper, long tail to protect from wheel-spray, reflective panel on the back, and discreet styling that belies the jacket's racing pedigree. This is the one jacket that belongs in every cyclist's quiver. - Castelli exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM 205 Warm brushed waterproof fabric on front-facing surfaces - GORE-TEX INFINIUM 203 Stretch on rear-facing surfaces for extra stretch and breathability - Taped shoulder seams for extra rain protection - YKK Vislon zipper for easy sliding, covered for extra wind and rain protection - Zippered ventilation opening on side of chest - 2 rear pockets with pump sleeve are easily accessed with gloved hands - Gabba-style dropped tail with large black reflective panel - 4°-14°C / 39°-57°F - Weight: 305g

The name of this tight, Sorpasso, means "overtaking" in Italian. That's what we've tried to do with this tight, to make it a bit faster, better, more comfortable. It's made to be technical equipment for riding in the widest range of winter conditions. The main part of the tight uses our Nano Flex 3G fabric, the third generation of our nanotechnology fabric treatment that adds a high level of water repellency without affecting the breathability, stretch or warmth of the fabric. You get a highly stretchy, compressive fit that moves with you, focusing on warmth and comfort. But then we add a few panels of the Nano Flex Xtra Dry fabric to provide a bit more wind protection and warmth in the front panel and over the thighs, and in the back for extra protection from road spray. It's not only about the fabrics: anatomical patterning gives a bend at the knee and the hip, while the seamless bib straps lie flat and securely keep everything in place. Our generously padded Progetto X2 Air seamless seat pad makes long rides more comfortable, and you have multiple reflective panels to keep you visible. We've designed this as the go-to tight for a full winter's riding. - Nano Flex 3G fabric for our best mix of warmth, stretchy compression, softness and water repellency - Nano Flex Xtra Dry fabric panel on upper front and thighs for extra warmth, and on back to protect from road spray - Anatomic cut to hips and knee - Reflective inserts for maximum visibility from behind - Lie-flat elastic bib straps - YKK Camlock zippers at ankles

Innovative evolution The Free Aero RC Bibshort is our top race short, which also means that it's insanely comfortable even if you never pin on a number. It's fair to say that we've been working on this short for the past 15 years. That's how long it's been since the original free aero race bibshort was first introduced, initially as our top-of-the-line race short. Since then it has won three Tours de France, three Gri d'Italia, one Vuelta, and San Remo, but it also became the best-selling product in the history of Castelli because, simply put, this is the short that does everything well. The concept is quite simple: start with the best pad we know how to make, surround it with a supportive short with good muscle compression, and then remove everything else that's not absolutely necessary. You feel free thanks to the reduced number of panels and the reduced number of seams. In fact, the short portion has just 5 panels compared to 10 in the previous generation. You feel free because of further refinements to the Progetto X2 air seamless seat pad. The two densities of foam plus the gel pads provide progressive damping, while the separate skincare layer is soft and stretchy to move with your skin. You feel free thanks to the most minimal bibs you've ever seen in a short, including open-weave straps for maximum airflow. But we reinforced the yoke so the straps stay in place and made the mesh back narrow for coverage that is minimal yet just enough to hold the shorts in place. And the bib elegantly frames a convenient pocket at the center back. You feel free because this is the first high-end short that doesn't need any sort of gripper or elastic at the end of the leg to keep the leg in place. Getting this right meant 28 prototypes and our most extensive test program ever, and it results in the most comfortable leg ending we've ever made. The Forza 2 fabric has 32% lycra with a high modulus for exceptional muscle support and just the right amount of compression. There's reflective piping on the back. And all logos are either stitched or embossed for durability. - High-compression 215g Forza 2 fabric with 32% lycra content provides exceptional muscle support and compression - Progetto X2 air seamless seat pad is soft against the skin but well padded for long-distance comfort - Minimalist bib straps allow maximum airflow, while a reinforced yoke keeps the straps flat over the shoulders - Rear mesh pocket - 5-panel construction for reduced seams and less chafing - Sublimation-printed graphic and logos that will never peel, crack, or fade - Reflective piping on back of legs - Soft waistband with raw-cut edge panels for extra stretch and comfort - Raw-cut leg ending engineered to stay put without silicone grippers

Bringing up the rear of the exclusive River City Bicycles Acrostic kit, the Free Aero Race 4 Bibshort is Castelli's top race short, which also means that it's insanely comfortable even if you never pin on a number. The original Free Aero Race Bibshort was first introduced over a decade ago and has logged literally millions of kilometers under the backsides of their sponsored pro riders and has been the best-selling short both in the Castelli retail collection and in their Servizio Corse custom program. Over this time the short has undergone numerous updates and improvements in the never-ending quest to create the best short. While the basic concept of a minimalist workhorse pro-level comfortable race short remains, every single fabric, component, stitch and construction method has been updated and improved over time. The fourth major generation of the short features the updated Progetto X2 Air Seamless seat pad. This pad separates a soft, stretchy skin care layer that moves with your body from a generously padded cushioning layer that replicates the form of your saddle. Eight-hour rides are no problem. Of course the fabrics are premium, made to Castelli's specifications by Italy's best fabric suppliers. The Forza fabric on the inner leg features 38% Lycra® content for perfect fit, while the Vortex fabric on the side panels is dimpled for aerodynamics. And it's held in place by the latest iteration of Castelli's seamless flat Giro leg gripper.

For wet conditions that aren't cold enough to necessitate tights, Castelli's Nanoflex 2 Bib Short is at the top of the list. Using five-phase nanotechnology treatment, the fabric of these bib tights simply sheds water when the rain starts coming down, but when it's dry, Castelli assures that this fabric is just as breathable and warm as their benchmark Thermoflex fabric. A KISS Air seat pad provides excellent comfort with its anatomic shape and continuously variable thickness, and the shorts stay securely in place with mesh bib straps up top. The creation of this product started with a list of the things we wanted to fix about winter gloves: we wanted to make a glove that's warm without being bulky, is easy to get on and off, is mostly waterproof without having it suck in dry weather due to low breathability, and is super comfortable. We innovated everything on this glove, starting with the base fabrics: we've used a stretch water-resistant windproof outer shell over PrimaLoft Gold insulation to make it warm, and an insanely soft inner liner that happens to slide easily over even a sweaty hand for easy on/off. The wrist zipper allows the glove to open almost completely for ingress/egress and also slims up the glove so it doesn't look like a ski glove, even though it's good for moderately cold temperatures. - Rain or Shine product made to excel in both dry and wet conditions - PrimaLoft Gold insulation for warmth - YKK water-repellent zipper for easy on and off - Engineered silicone print for optimal grip - Water-repellent fabric for protection in wet conditions -Touchscreen inserts at fingertip
$90.00
SPECTACULAR FOR HER Ergonomically cut and with added warmth specifically for women's hands, this glove began with an innovative desire to make a better glove. A glove that was warmer but less bulky, looking less like a ski glove and more like a cycling glove. A glove that was simple to put on and take off, even with sweaty hands and even if you are wearing a watch. A glove that was subtle enough for phone use and comfortable enough for long days in the saddle. Spectacular, indeed. - Castelli's Rain or Shine label means this product is made to excel in both dry and wet conditions - Water-repellent fabric for protection in wet conditions - PrimaLoft Gold insulation at back and palm for warmth - YKK water-repellent zipper for easy on and off - Engineered silicone print for optimal grip - Touchscreen insert at fingertip
